tying-up boards with pegs

Tying boards with a row of pegs projecting in a line close to one long edge on one side of the board. These are placed on each side of a recently covered book with the pegs facing outwards and held in place in a finishing or laying press, to allow tying-up cord to be looped under the pegs and passed backwards and forwards across the spine to hold the covering material in place as it dries.
