Accessibility Statement for the Language of Bindings website

This website is run by Dr. Athanasios Velios at a partly voluntary basis and depending on availability. It is supported by the University of Edinburgh and the department of Library & University Collections. This accessibility statement applies to the website served under the following address: https://lob.is.ed.ac.uk

This website uses HTML 5 (HyperText Mark-up Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to render content. Other technologies are also used including JavaScript. The website is built using the Drupal Content Management System.

In terms of accessibility functionality you should be able to:

  • access the website regardless of the device and browser you are using
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

The website text has been edited to assist with comprehension, however the subject discussed is technical and the work to make the text easier to understand is ongoing.

Some parts of the website are not fully accessible:

  • some javascript functions are built using links which do not lead anywhere
  • some images may be missing alternative text
  • some alternative text is not descriptive of the image

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

This statement was prepared on 21 September 2020 and revised on the 28 July 2022 and then on the 8 December 2024.
